Although both artists in the Object
Image Gallerys new two person show, City Images are not native New
Yorkers they are each in their own way able to capture both the
unique and the classic elements of their adopted city.
Warren Beishir originally from St.Louis, Missouri has exhibited his
charcoal drawings of New York and Brooklyn at the Object Image
Gallery in numerous group shows. His on site drawings have
documented the rapidly changing urban landscape. The richness of the
tones in his drawings and the use of negative space give them a
presence way beyond their actual size.
Mark Oliver, originally from the United Kingdom, paints large-scale
watercolors of familiar scenes but with such clarity that one feels
like you are seeing these views for the first time. The vibrancy of
his palette makes his work jump out of their frames. Come see your
city through the eyes of these two talented artists.
