Mr. Williams’ strong commitment to painting from observation is clearly demonstrated in his scenes from his studio of Long Island City. Although a master at capturing time and place through clearly defined forms his oils on canvas also catch an elusive sense of a historical presence at work. Mr. Williams studied with Wayne Thiebaud and has shown his work across the United States. He has also taught art at Pratt Institute, New York Tech and St. John’s University.
